Each month Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric (www.ApplewoodFixIt.com) gives away a service package to an “Eye-Spy the Orange Truck Contest” entrant. The monthly contest is an extension of the initial launch of services available through mobile apps.
There are more than 60 orange Applewood trucks on the roads daily making service calls. The ApplewoodPHE app is available on Droid and iPhone platforms. Individuals can also post orange truck sightings via the Applewood website, www.ApplewoodFixIt.com.
Contestants have the chance to win an elite Applewood Gold Service Club Membership, valued at $198. Members receive free maintenance service of their home’s plumbing, heating, cooling or electrical system, plus 15 percent off standard rates, priority service and numerous additional benefits and discounts.
“We’re excited to be able to extend the program to a monthly contest,” said Applewood President John Ward. “It’s fun, interactive and the Gold Service Club Membership can really come in handy.”
With the onset of summer and the need for regular maintenance of swamp coolers and air conditioning systems, the Service Club Membership can really help prepare for summer, according to Ward. One winner is randomly selected each month to receive a service club membership.
The Android app can be installed for free at Android Market. The Apple version (also free) is available through the iTunes Store. You can find the apps by searching ApplewoodPHE. Both platforms of the app include tips, coupons, the ability to request service at any time and more.
It’s that simple: download the app, spot the orange truck and get entered to win. More than 1200 people downloaded the Apple version and more than 500 people entered the first contest, which ended December 15, 2010. Rita Pilger of Arvada was the grand prize winner. Since then, monthly winners have been receiving Service Club prizes.
Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric has served the Denver/Boulder Metro area for more than 37 years.
