Norris was amazing. Had him look at a 68 Charger and he went into GREAT length and detail of figuring the ins and outs. Even gave me suggestions on what would need to be done to make it a better driver, on what is expected to be maintained, what the kinks were and what the build of the car was. And that's just the inspection sheet. When we then talked on the phone it was a great talk about my personal intentions of the vehicle and what I could do with those intentions that would make it an even BETTER driver. Which then led to the common mistakes when dealing with classic car restorations and what I could do to avoid making those same mistakes in the future. The vehicle not being provided with a spec sheet, any more detail other than the engine and transmission, I was unaware of the details the dealership holding the car had themselves. That being said, I'm now informed on the car being built to be "original" and very very special which is on the other end of the spectrum I was looking for (mainly because my intention of replacing the guts to turn into a daily driver and I feel would be a catastrophe to take that away from someone who'd want an original). Whether or not I end up with the vehicle, he more than helped me understand where this vehicle sits.
Thank you to Mike for setting everything up and being communicative. To Norris for being insanely knowledgeable, informative, quick, on his feet and a bad ass dude for being as helpful and straightforward as you'd want.
Awesome work yall !
I contacted SOS in regards to a pre-purchased inspection of a 1988 Mustang that’s located in Colorado Springs. My intentions were to fly in from Atlanta and drive the Mustang cross country back to Georgia from Colorado Springs. SOS saved me a lot of $$$$ and hassles. Worth every dime and wow what a through post inspection report! THIRTY NINE PAGES!!!! Thank you again Norris. You’re a true life saver.
Save yourself a headache
I’ve used SOS on 5 separate occasions. Norris has saved me from cracked frames and bent suspensions. Don’t trust the dealership inspections, the inspector works for the dealership,Norris works for you. There are some dealerships that won’t allow him on their lots because of what he might find. He called me after my last inspection and told me to go get the car before it gets away! The cost far outweighs what he will save you in repairs and surprises. Thank you Norris and Mike
Guy came out to my house with a horrible attitude and snatched paperwork out of my hand. I sent him on his way. I would not recommend using this company horrible service!
I have used Norris 4 times. I bought 2 vehicles and was kept from being disappointed 2 other times. Well worth the fee! The vehicle report is in depth and covers everything.
Norris at SOS Inspections was great to work with. Very fast appointment, on time, very thorough, and presented a professional report. He also took the time to walk me through his report and explain the importance of things that he caught. Money well spent.
I dd not feel this company was reliable. They were very polite but not professional. I called on a Saturday to make an appointment for the following Monday and it was all over the news that it would snow Monday, I knew this but still needed the inspection and didn't think it would be a problem. Time was taken off work to meet up with s.o.s on the morning of the meeting we received a call cancelling due to snow. I feel like letting me know when I made the appointment that it could be cancelled due to snow would have been professional, then I could have made a decision then to make the appointment on a different day and not miss the time from work. We live in Colorado so to cancel for a light snow is not reliability to me.
Would not use
This man comes to my house to inspect a car I am selling to a gentleman in RI,[He was hired over the internet] This is an expensive Porsche 993. He is not knowledgeable of this car at all.He gave the car a fair rating, car is good to excellent anywhere. He advised my customer that he was unable to drive the car which is not true. I was there the entire time he was trying to find fault with the car and he never asked or said lets road test.He never asked for books or records, any novice know that is the first question on a Porsche. His qualification are ASE certified, there is one at every gas station,Would you take your $50,000 car to Conoco for Service?? Funny car just had a PPI at the best Porsche garage in Denver and passed with flying colors....
SOS was a godsend
I live in Atlanta and flew to Denver to purchase an older used car for my niece who lives there. We had set a $2500 budget and decided the best route to go would be Craigslist. I have no mechanical knowledge about cars and looked for a mobile inspection service with good reviews. I called SOS several days before arriving in Denver and spoke with Mike to be sure they would be able to respond promptly over a weekend. Once in Denver, I actually ended up having SOS inspect a couple of Craigslist cars. The first one my niece was interested in ended up having too many undisclosed and costly issues. Because of Norris' report we nixed that one quickly. The second car inspected much better, although it was 9 years older. It was a 1996 Camry with 162k miles. There was an undisclosed power steering leak that Norris estimated would cost $500-600 to repair. With that information we were able to negotiate the price down from $2500 to $2000. It was a daunting task to find a reliable older used car in a short 48 hour window, but we did. Mike and Norris communicated well with us by phone and email and I feel confident my niece has a solid vehicle that will last her at least a few years. I highly recommend SOS, their fee is money well spent.
Best Car Inspection
This man gave a detailed report and pointed out that a dealership did not properly disclose information they should have! With the visual evidence provided we were able to recover $500 in damages from the dealership!
